Turkish Cypriot daily Kibris newspaper reports that for the first four months of 2008, imports to northern Cyprus have increased by 19% while exports have decreased by 11%. According to information given to the press by the “trade department”, imports were up to $525.1m and exports were $35.8m. Exports to Turkey were $20.4m while exports to other countries were $15.4m.
